Dr. Surendra Kataria, born on March 9th, 1964 at village Doomroli, District Alwar, Rajasthan (INDIA), is an author, teacher and scholar of public administration. Being a state government civil servant he earned all his higher education degrees as non-collegiate student. He possesses M. A., M. Phil and Ph. D in Public Administration as well as M. A. in Sociology, M.A. in Rural Development, Bachelor of Journalism and mass communication, Diploma in General Nursing, P. G. Hospital, Jaipur. Dr. Kataria has worked as Research Officer (Public Adm.) in World Bank's India population project VI & VII at National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi for three years. He has been Associate Professor for four years on deputation basis in Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj and Gramin Vikas Sansthan (The State Institute of Rural Development), Jaipur.
During 2006-09 he has been associated with Department of Public
administration, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur as UGC's Post Doctoral
